About Us
The Forum is an independent voluntary organisation with its own constitution. It exists to improve the lives of sexual minorities in the Scottish Borders. The aims of the Forum are to:-
- provide advice and act as a consulting body to all community planning partner organisations on matters affecting LGBT people
- disseminate advice from public sector and other organisations to LGBT people
- develop a range of social and recreational activities, independently or jointly with other organisations
- provide a befriending service to LGBT people
- encourage links between community groups and share best practice with similar organisations
Community Planning Partner Organisations The Forum has close links with representatives of Scottish Borders Council, Lothian and Borders Police and NHS Borders. Links to these websites can be found on our Web Links page. Key Dates The Forum was launched on 2nd October 2006. The first AGM was held outside on Saturday 2nd June 2007 as part of the Borders Pride Barbecue.
